Abstract

In copper, we have a material which has the most attractive electrical and other properties needed for electrical, electronic and chemical industries. Various joining processes have also been developed which can reliably ensure either the strength or the electrical continuity or both, as required. These two features make the position of copper in electrical, electronic and chemical industries unique.

The Sun and the stars are the most powerful sources of electromagnetic radiation. But they emit in-coherent radiation, wave lengths ranging from kilometres to fractions of an Angstrom. "LASER" "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation" gets its name from its function i.e. that it can amplify light.

Abstract

The use of welding in India has caught on at a rapid rate in the last decade and to-day it is accepted as a fully dependable and an indispensable tool for fabrication. The basic reason for this has been the rapid industrialisation and expansion of economy in general. In particular, the growth of wagon and coach building, structural fabrication and automobile industries has contributed largely to this increased adoption of welding.

Abstract

Radiography provides a valuable non-destructive method for determining the internal soundness of welds and castings. It is applied extensively now-a-days for weld and castings in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
